Project
Summary

Design a Clothing Poster

This is a school project where we were tasked to design a clothing poster/advertisement. Deliverables include:

  • 1 mood board

  • 3 concept sketches

  • 1 final artwork

  • 1 Reflection journal

Software used:
My thought process:

Adobe Illustrator

As I know, this project must be completed by lesson ends(by 2359). So time management is paramount importance. I did not have time to look up tutorials, I just draw what I want my viewer to see(the concept art).

So when I think of poster, I think of a picture that might draw the viewer attention in, or a picture that will make the audience make a transaction/cha-ching. But I must also not forget why is it beneficial for the consumer. Product advertising is the art of informing the people of the product and its benefits.

So my end goal in mind is something like a product/brand name + a tagline/slogan. With colorful aesthetic of course.

Year

2021

Color Scheme

Dark gray, White, Black, Magenta, Dark Pink

Moodboard:

Emphasis, Contrast

Now you must be thinking. Holy crap, that moodboard is horrifyingly bland! Why did I add 6 pictures of people in or w/o sweaters/trench coat/jackets/blazer?!?! This is because I was following a classmate's moodboard. I did not know what to do, this was my first moodboard ever. I wasn't even aware if I was exercising Contrast, Emphasis and Balance. I just pick and paste the colors I found from my moodboard.

Final artwork:

The concept art is what I thought I might put in the poster but in the end, I just want to add a jacket to tell the audience, "Yo, don this jacket, it makes you look more stylish". And because the jacket belongs to UrbanFind, I added their company's logo(free advertisement).

I hope my explanation was clear and concise, if you have any questions, drop me a message on Wix. It will directly inform me to my email inbox.
