My thought process:
Color Scheme
This assignment was extremely workload heavy. But I did not complain. For the name card, I chose a drip art style, because I thought it looked very cool and artistic. However, that's me, to a stranger, he might not think so.
My brand identity is about selling gadgets and laptops.
A brand is the face of a company.
A brand is the reputation of a company's product and services
A brand projects an image or a personality
A brand defines an identity
A brand can be regarded as Quality assurance.
A brand can draw loyalty if done well.
Knowing all that, how can I draw loyalty by creating a brand that sell gadgets and laptops? It got me thinking, what makes gadgets amazing? And what makes customer sought after latest gadgets.
Red, Pink, Liberty, Dark Liberty, Pastel Blue
Principle of Design
Emphasis, Contrast
The answer I found were: People like gadgets for several reasons.
-
Firstly, they provide practical benefits, making tasks easier and more efficient.
-
Secondly, gadgets offer convenience and portability, allowing us to stay connected and productive on-the-go.
-
Thirdly, they provide entertainment and leisure activities.
-
Fourthly, owning the latest and greatest gadget can be seen as a status symbol.
-
Lastly, some people simply enjoy exploring new gadgets and trying out their features. Overall, gadgets improve our daily lives and provide new and exciting experiences, which is why people are drawn to them.
And thus the moodboard I have will be about selling the customer a 'dream', if that makes sense. Anyway, the color scheme will have a mix of blue, red and black.
Moodboards:
Website Research Images:
I was impressed by websites done by professionals but could not find out/decide what I want for my website to look like.
Business card research images:
Drafts for website:
These are the drafts that I drew, each of them show the layout of the website/business card/poster design.

Final Artwork:
These are the final artworks. I have wrote description inside explaining each artwork design rationale.
I chose this color(Dark moderate blue) because monochromatic is much easier to create and does not mess up my colors with other templates. I chose this design because the drip effect looks fantastic and the colors are align with monochromatic colour harmony. I removed the black creature because I felt like it wasn’t aesthetic enough, plus it doesn’t relate to gadgets at all. I needed 2 logos for this design because this design is heavily inspired by “Research (2)” in my Name Card Research folder
I use monochromatic colors again but this time there are more white spaces and the colors are inverted to show my details better. The drip effect will have my logo in white.
This is my poster for my brand/website, I used the monochromatic colors again, with playstation button icons to signify I like video games. Although this poster was originally gonna be a poster for selling laptops, mice, audio devices, but the requirements was you have to 'sell' yourself as an UI/UX Designer or illustrator. So I changed it to me holding the laptop instead(also suggested by the lecturer). Why hold the laptop? because most of our illustrations were created in laptops and comput
This is my website homepage, honestly, I prefer when the colors were blue purple and pink. I used the default design from pdf file because I really like the design, I wanted to use a different layout but I find this to have the most information about being a UX/UI designer. The portfolio page and About me page has neon colours because I want to add more colours from my moodboard and they are my favourite colors, and I find websites with the same colours to be a bit boring.
Here are the other three sub pages: Portfolio, Resume, About Me. For Portfolio, I showcase all my works I have done in T252. For Resume, I posted my most recent resume(but doesn’t have my real contact details). For About Me, I try to dish out the most common questions that people will ask about me.
