Features

Unity

Find the code is a virtual reality game where the player's objective is to find codes to progress through the levels. The game likely involves a combination of exploration, puzzle-solving, and code-breaking elements.

As the player progresses through the game, the codes may become increasingly difficult to find and decipher, providing a greater challenge and sense of accomplishment upon completion.

Overall, Find the code appears to be a game that requires both mental and physical engagement from the player, making it a potentially immersive and entertaining experience in virtual reality.

Game Design Document  :
  • Genre of the game: Simulation, Puzzle

  • Inspirational Reference: Find The Code(Roblox), SCP: Labrat VR.

  • Basic Narrative: A single-player or coop game that involves escaping the room by finding or guessing the code. One must think carefully or search carefully to escape the lab.

  • Inputs: Tracked motion controllers, mouse and keyboard

  • Platform: VR, PC, mobile phones

  • Gameplay mode: Single player (for now)

  • Game comfort level: Moderate

Unique Selling Points(Half of the features are not implemented due to time constraint):
  • Game can be played in multiple platforms (cross-platform game) -> Mobile (iOS, Android), PC (Mac OS X, Windows, Linux), and VR (HTC Vive, PS VR, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift etc). This gives opportunities to reach more potential players immediately, users buy one system and have instant access to the game from other platforms. Accessibility will help with maximum impact on target audience and lets players have a better gaming experience.
  • Fun and intuitive puzzles to solve - > Find the code has a variety of puzzles ranging from the easy to the difficult and tedious, all of which are carefully designed with the intention of being solved both independently and cooperatively. In addition, to make the puzzles more dynamic and alluring, the solutions to each new game vary, so each playthrough won't always be the same! So put on your thinking cap and puzzle-solving skills to the test and attempt to escape from this mysterious lab
  • Items - > You must find necessary items and manage them carefully if you want to locate the code, because running out of any of them could result in your demise. On your exploration of the lab, you may come across some of the following items:
    -    Mental Stabilizer (Pills): Lower madness by popping pills
    -    Flashlight: Use a flashlight to see in the dark.
    -    Paper or Notes: Gives you clue.
    -    Bottle of Water: Makes you walk faster
    -    High vitamins: Heals you by 50%
  • Virtual Reality - > The game is VR-supported for those who want greater immersion in the game, If you have an Oculus Quest device you can't miss the experience of being trapped in the lab in virtual reality.
Disclaimer: Important: VR support is currently in extremely bad shape, and you will probably experience problems with controls, comfort, and compatibility. Do not purchase the game solely for the VR experience. We are putting a lot of e
ffort into making this better and adding full VR support!
  • Levels: 4 levels -> Each level is designed to be more difficult than the previous one and each one with different puzzle and mechanics.
Monetizing Plan:
The game will be available for consumer at Oculus games store and Steam games store for the price point of $2.99 USD. If all the features are implemented, price point will increase to $15.00 to make it reasonable. Marketing will start early on, to show the GIFs of the game. Properly marketed for steam greenlight on steam. The DLC will include more stages and puzzles. The only IAP for mobile version will be the function to remove in-game ads permanently from the game.

Art Style  :
The artstyle/design theme I will be choosing for my VR escape room is “Minimalist” since it’s easier for me to create/design the levels. I love the idea when art is selected with care, the “less is more” mindset. As one of the important aspects of principal of design is simplicity and white space, it’s not devoid of style, on the contrary, it’s better to keep levels neat and tidy, by having simple furnishing.  I struggled to decide whether I wanted modern or minimalist. Because modern looks a lot like minimalist. I was starting to lose it.
